Pray For Michael Pearl

The Pearls are being attacked big time by the socialist, progressive, anti-family agenda media.  We have seen them attacked time and time again on CNN and other news networks.  In the '80s, they were attacked for homeschooling their children.  Now they are being attacked for spanking, which those opposed to spanking call "hitting."

Spanking has been outlawed in many countries and many people would like to outlaw it in America.  The generation raised on positive affirmation is now in their early thirties, and over 50% of their children are in some kind of therapy.  Teen violence, crime, and antisocial behavior have risen 600%.  In addition, parental violence against children has risen dramatically. {Debi Pearl}

I have seen the hate filled comments on this blog whenever I write about spanking.  Young parents in this generation are afraid to say if they spank their children for fear of losing their children.

Those opposed to spanking use  studies that say that spanked children grow up to be violent.  You can find a "study" to prove any point you want to make.  My children, Ken and I, and most of my friends were all spanked and not one of us is violent in any way.  None of us would say that we were abused, either.  We disciplined our children when we saw any type of evil exhibited in them.  We didn't want evil to get even a small foothold in their lives.  Pain was a great way to stop evil in its tracks.

Our big government would love to take away this right from parents because of the few who have beaten their children to death.  Should they take away cars because people get killed in them every day?  Every thing can be taken to an extreme.  Bad parents raise bad children.

We raised good children on biblical principles and our society is getting farther and farther away from God's principles and you can see it in the way society is deteriorating.  Michael Pearl and a few others are willing to stand up and fight this battle for our young families to have the right to raise their children the way they see fit.

Pray for those in the heat of the battle.  He was a pioneer in the homeschool movement and helped it become more accepted.  We need more godly men like him to stand up and speak truth.  He does not teach abuse!  He teaches firm discipline with godly counsel.  His children are amazing.  The proof is in the pudding.  He has very good pudding.

For the moment all discipline seems painful rather than pleasant, but later it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.
